Elliot, C.H. and McDaniel, C.V. (1972) Process for preparing high silica faujasite. US Patent 3,539,099. 

Mineral standards were hand crushed to -1/4 inch, then ground to a fine powder in a ball mill (alumina elements) or Bleuler Model 526/LFS678 puck mill. The resultant powder was aerodynamically classified in a Bahco Model 6000 micro particle classifier and the finest fraction ( 18 throttle) was collected. A size criterion of 90% or more by weight of particles 5 micron and smaller in diameter was used for the mineral standards. Sizes were verified by Coulter Counter. Duplicate 13 mm KBr pellets were prepared and the spectra were weight-scaled by techniques similar to those reported by Painter (3) and Elliot (4). With one exception, all the mineral standard spectra were averages of spectra from duplicate pellets. The one exception was the iron sulfate spectrum, which was obtained as the difference spectrum by subtracting the spectrum of HCl-washed weathered pyrite from that of the weathered pyrite. A weight correction was applied to the difference spectrum.

A comparative assessment between two alternative routes to Elliot s alcohol, an industrial intermediate in the preparation of pyrethroids of the resmethrin family, is presented in this chapter. This assessment is made with the aid of the EATOS tool and takes into consideration both the masses (E-factor) as well as environmental impact of the substances employed and released by the processes (Sheldon s Q). 

Dextrins. Dextrine, White Farina 30, the dextrin manufactured by the British firm of Elliot and Crabtree and used in the preparation of RD 1352, was supplied by Liang National Ltd. as Dextrine, White Farina required for manufacture of lead azide. There is no specification for this dextrin, and as received it contained 10.73% moisture. A portion was air-dried and was used to prepare the solutions for the three batches of dextrinated azide.

The geology of the central Transantarctic Mountains is depicted on the maps prepared by Grindley and Laird (1969) and by McGregor and Wade (1969). In addition, Barrett et al. (1970), Lindsay et al. (1973), Barrett and Elliot (1973), and Elliot et al. (1974) published outcrop maps of the mountains in the Beardmore Glacier area.
