Type tests electrical machines

The General requirements cover apparatus grouping and temperature classification, constructional requirements for enclosures and fasteners, connection facilities and terminal compartments, cable entries and supplementary requirements for rotating electrical machines, switchgear, plugs and sockets and luminaires. A third part of the standards cover type verifications and tests as well as marking requirements. [Pg.121]

The SPI kit covers the primary processing machine communication protocol with chillers, blenders, dryers, water systems, discrete mold-temperature controllers, and the like. The protocol provides for centralized setup and monitoring of auxiliaries by the primary machine. The test simulation software that is a key part of the kit ensures uniform interpretation of technical specifications. It is a combination of a detailed technical specification of hardware requirements such as the type of cable, the connector and electrical interface, and software requirements. The kit protocol shows how electronic information moves through the system. [Pg.711]

A convenient method of carrying out such a galvanic test in the laboratory has been described by Wesley in which the vertical circular-path machine is used. Each assembly includes two pairs of dissimilar metals—one pair coupled galvanically while the other pair is left uncoupled in order to determine the normal corrosion rates under the same environmental conditions. The type of motion provided (specimens moving in a vertical circular path) enables electrical connections to be made without mercury cup or commutator and the leads can be connected to a calibrated resistance for current measurements attached to the specimen carrier. [Pg.1019]

More recently, the National Institutes of Health have been emphasizing hearts and assist devices capable of mechanical or electrical operation. Most of these devices have a pusher plate that moves back and forth to displace the diaphragm a fixed (but adjustable) distance, generally independent of the pressure of each stroke. The fatigue test which most closely mimics this condition will deform the test specimens to a fixed deformation or strain in each cycle. This is the type of fatigue test machine that MRC has constructed for this program. [Pg.535]

An alternative approach to detecting slight over-compression with an electrical circuit is to arrange for a preset amount of over-compression. Simple jigs of this type relying on a mechanical stop will probably produce excessive over-compression and be somewhat variable in use. The actual amount of over-compression of the test piece will depend on the stiffness of the load cell and errors can be introduced by any lack of parallelism of the plates and plunger. However, if they are machined to tight tolerances, this type of jig can be very effective and relatively cheap. [Pg.209]

Situation, June The first manipulator, at this stage, was installed in the prototype workshop - a big orange beast that worked quite well. This one was an off-the-shelf standard type, pneiunatic driven, and rented from a sub-supplier. The tests were performed on this rented machine however, this was not the manipulator that was to eventually end up in the factories. Firstly, because it was driven by air and pneumatics had been abolished for a long time in the factories, as it is inefficient, very noisy, and sometimes dirty. Secondly, because the manipulator that is to be used in the factories is driven by electricity, and it is to be specially made for the purpose by a local equipment supplier to The Company. There were some discussions about this. Some said that they should buy manipulators from known suppliers on an off-the-shelf basis. But it turned out that the manipulators available were too big compared to the load they could bear they were also too expensive. It was therefore decided to have them custom-made. Thereby it was possible to have a... [Pg.219]

Different types of test pieces for tribological and mechanical testing were prepared by means of electrical discharge machining. The powders for sintering HP-NbC and the NbC-8Co were pure and essentially free of tantalum. [Pg.226]
