Dose/Day

In NAA the sample is made radioactive by subjecting it to a high dose (days) of thermal neutrons in a reactor. The process is effective for about two-thirds of the elements in the periodic table. The sample is then removed in a lead-shielded container. The radioisotopes formed decay by B emission, y-ray emission, or X-ray emission. The y-ray or X-ray energies are measured by EDS (see Chapter 3) in spe-... [Pg.646]

A complete dose-response analysis was generated for PCP for doses from 0.625 to 20 mg/kg IP (data not shown). PCP exhibited dose-related anticonvulsant action when day one minus day three differ ence scores were compared for all doses tested. When retested with saline only on day five, no reduction in convulsant sever it or super-sensitive response was observed (day one minus day five), indicating no carryover drug effect 48 hours after dosing. At behavioral ly equivalent doses, all compounds assayed were clearly anticonvulsant (table 3). TCP was most potent at the doses tested. PCA was the most efficacious, and reduced convulsant severity by 2.58 points. As with PCP, none of the other phencycli-noids had any carryover effects 48 hours after dosing (day one minus day five). [Pg.118]

Estimates of the average use of each drug in the main urban areas of the Ebro River basin, expressed as g/day/1,000 inhabitants and doses/day/1,000 inhabitants, are shown in Fig. 7. [Pg.201]

The average use of ephedrine, a drug mainly used with therapeutic purposes to treat rhinitis, sinusitis, and depressive states among others, ranged between 0.10 and 0.35 g/day/1,000 inh. aging 15-64, which is equivalent to 4 and 14 doses/day/1,000 inh. aging 15-64, respectively. [Pg.203]

Dosage - Each actuation of the nasal spray delivers a metered 50 mcL spray containing 0.5 mg nicotine. One dose is 1 mg of nicotine (2 sprays, 1 in each nostril). Start patients with 1 or 2 doses per hour, which may be increased up to a maximum recommended dose of 40 mg (80 sprays, somewhat less than >2 of the bottle) per day. For best results, encourage patients to use at least the recommended minimum of 8 doses/day, as less is unlikely to be effective. [Pg.1332]
