Division of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry

Xhe 1987 WINTER SYMPOSIUM of the Division of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry, hosted by the Minnesota Supercomputer Institute, was supported by grants from the American Chemical Society, the Minnesota Supercomputer Institute, Cray Research, Inc., and ETA Systems, Inc. The symposium consisted of four half-day sessions with four lectures per session and a two-part poster session with 15 poster papers. This book includes chapters by the lecturers plus five papers contributed by the session chairs. All contributions were refereed anonymously according to usual procedures of the ACS Symposium Series. [Pg.1]

The other ACS divisions that served as joint sponsors with the Division of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry and the chairmen provided for three of the four sessions of this symposium should be identified for their helpful assistance Howard M. Peters from the Division of Chemical Information (Chemistry and the Law Subdivision) Kenneth W. Greenlee from the Division of Small Chemical Businesses and Lawrence Keller from the Division of Organic Coatings and Plastics Chemistry. Lawrence Keller served also as co-chairman and helped develop the general scope of the symposium. The Board Committee on Corporation Associates also was a joint sponsor. [Pg.251]

Finally, I must acknowledge the frequently requested and helpful guidance and advice given by W. Novis Smith, Program Chairman, and Robert A. Ference, Program Secretary, for the Division of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry. [Pg.252]

J. E. McEvoy (Councilor), W. N. Smith (Program Chairman), and R. A. Stowe (Program Secretary) of the Division of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry of the American Chemical Society who helped the editor in organizing this symposium. The editor appreciates the assistance of the sixteen unnamed persons who refereed the papers published in this volume. [Pg.2]

As servants, plasticizers are more neglected than their masters, the resins themselves. Less has been said and written about them. The Division of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry felt that plasticization and plasticizer processes are important enough to hold a two-day symposium on this subject. This volume contains the papers presented at the symposium during the Spring of 1964— National ACS Meeting in Philadelphia. [Pg.5]

This volume contains 18 papers on the kinetics and technology of addition and condensation polymerization processes. These papers were presented at the sixth symposium on this subject held by the Division of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry and the Division of Polymer Chemistry during the A.C.S. Meeting, Boston April 9-14, 1972. They are concerned with known commercial products. New polymers and novel polymerization reactions presented at the same symposium are collected in the companion volume, Advances in Chemistry Series No. 129. [Pg.10]
