Distribution factors

The sorption of ions of heavy metals (Cu(II), Zn(II), Cr(VI), Cd(II), Pb(II)) on ChCS in static and dynamic conditions were studied. For an estimation of selective sorbate ability ChCS the distribution factor was determined. Sorption, physical and chemical properties of complexes received by different methods were analyzed by a compai ative method.

In addition to the two model substances, Table V includes similar data on two water soluble pollutants. For phenol, the hepatic compartment at 4 hrs. contained both a large concentration and a high percentage of the administered dose. As is indicated by the urine and kidney levels, the importance of the renal route is evident. While there are no other unique distributional factors noted for phenol from these data, the fact that after 24 hrs. only about 30% of the administered radioactive compound is accounted for, as well as other known properties of phenol, suggests that it may be excreted via the gills (28) or through the skin. 

The suggested bulk material factors are applied to direct equipment costs, whereas the bulk labor factors apply to the corresponding bulk material item. Because the distributive factors are based on larger scale field built plants, FETC applies an additional factory fabrication adjustment to reflect a more modular construction approach requiring less field fabrication as would likely be the case with smaller plant configurations. This approach is illustrated in reference (18).

By conventional tests, secondary amine analogues of 4-phenylpiperidine analgesics lack activity (normorphine is equi-potent with morphine by the intra-cisternal route [48]) many secondary bases of the thebaines,(VII), however, are morphine-like analgesics. These findings lend support to the view that the low potencies reported for many nor-analogues of analgesics are due to distribution factors and not to the failure of such derivatives to associate at the receptor.

Equations (5.68-5.72) and (5.61) form a set of simultaneous equations for the unknown temperatures, Tc, Ta, T°ut, Tf, 7y ut, and the heat distribution factor a for one cell of the stack. Writing similar equations for all cells in the stack will result in a larger system of simultaneous equations. The equations for neighboring cells are coupled through heat conduction terms.
