Diabetes type autoimmune nature

While there is considerable theoretical basis for vaccination triggering autoimmune phenomena — in many of the same ways as natural infection — the main interest in this area has arisen from public concern (Offit Hackett, 2003). There is a general concern regarding the relationship between autoimmune diseases and vaccination, but large-scale studies have been performed on only two diseases — multiple sclerosis and diabetes mellitus type 1. 

Natural resistance-associated macrophage protein (NRAMP1). Iron transporter that plays a critical role in macrophage activation and differentiation. Allele 3 of the NRAMP1 promoter is associated with autoimmune disorders (e.g. rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes mellitus type 1, multiple sclerosis).
