Depolymerized rubber

There is only one North American producer of depolymerized rubber, Hardman, Inc., of Belleville, New Jersey. Manufacturing information of this product, sold under the trade name DPR, is proprietary. It is a flowable polymer that looks like molasses. Rubber compounds using the material make excellent molds for they release waxes, gypsum, and ceramics easily.

Depolymerized rubber n. Rubber which has been extensively milled or otherwise treated so that it has sufficient solubility in aromatic hydrocarbons for the resulting solution to be used as a varnish or varnish constituent.

Contact Adhesives. Nowadays, rubber solutions based on natural rubber or styrene-butadiene rubber, optionally in conjunction with regenerate and depolymerized rubber, are used for large-area bonding where adhesion does not have to meet stringent requirements, as is the case, for example, with the lining of vessels, containers, etc. with rubber.
