Demolition materials

Demolition materials are used in the same way as mine waste, usually in subbase or base layers after preselection and crushing. Demolition materials may also be used in subbase and base mixtures (Woodside et al. 2011). [Pg.53]

Demolition Explosives (Demolition Blocks, Demolition Charges and,Demolition Devices) (See also Demolition Hoses, Demolition Kits and Demolition Snakes). Demolition expls are those used for demolition purposes. They are mostly HE s (such as TNT, PA, Tetryl, FETN, Dynamite, etc), made in the shape of blocks, cartridges, etc. Some LE s, such as compressed wet Guncotton, can also be used. Under the term Demolition Devices, Ohart (Ref 8) described Bangalore Torpedoes (See Vol 2, P 16"R of this Encycl) and various demolition blocks, including shaped charges. In Ref 12a, the same devices are listed as Demolition Materials (qv)... [Pg.478]

The standard weapon appeared to be the British Lee-En-field rifle. There were a number of small machine pistols of local manufacture, short-range weapons not very accurate beyond 50 yards. I saw Bren guns (automatic rifles) and a few heavy machine guns. Mines and other demolition material were also homemade and seemed of good quality. Communication equipment included a number of pack sets and walkie-talkies, and radio communication was constant between all major military headquarters. There was some motor transport, but no truck-mounted radio transmitters or power plants. [Pg.29]
