There are several consequences of these anomalies in pressnre gradients for the delivery and distribution of drugs and macromolecules within the tnmonr interstitinm. First, high interstitial pressures mean that the central regions of the tnmonr, already poorly perfused, demonstrate low or non-existent convective flow into the interstitinm. Fnrthermore, interstitial convective flow will tend to radiate outward from the centre, towards the periphery and regions of lower interstitial pressure. Therefore, only small amonnts of drngs or macromolecules will reach cells in the centre of the tumour. At the tumour periphery, where convective transfer across the blood vessel wall might take place, further movement towards the centre of the tumour will be impeded by bulk flow in the opposite direction.

Other schemes involving dichroic dyes with heat and electrical fields are also possible. Each of the possibilities could use the plastic structure of the substrates, its durability, or both. This approach would recycle the material for carrying the printed messages at the point of use, eliminating handling and distribution costs, and would require a fraction of the enormous amount of paper now consumed in delivering news and other literary material. The newspaper or periodical would have the familiar size and appearance and would present little change to the reader. The thermodynamic solubility of a drug is the concentration of the compound that is dissolved in aqueous solution in equilibrium with the undissolved amount, when measured at 25°C after an appropriate time period. Aqueous solubility has long been recognized as a key molecular property in pharmaceutical science. Drug delivery, transport and distribution phenomena depend on solubility thus, it is of considerable value to possess information of the solubility value of a drug candidate, to be able to predict the solubility for unknown compounds and, finally, to be able to modify the structure of a compound in order to modulate its solubility value in an appropriate manner. 

The modular approach is based upon the current capacity of the OPCW in terms of offers of assistance by States Parties (in the form of material and personnel), and the capacity of the Secretariat to store, maintain, transport, and distribute the items and resources most likely to be needed should a CW-related emergency arise. The components of this approach would involve a central stockpile of resources and equipment in the Organisation s headquarters, available for immediate dispatch to a requesting State Party, and in addition, stockpiles of resources which have been offered by States Parties and organised in the form of modules. The modules would be categorised into basic assistance modules (BAMs) for emergency assistance, and specialised assistance modules (SAMs) for supplementary and humanitarian assistance. The Secretariat would store BAMs and a very limited stockpile of humanitarian assistance, while both BAMs and SAMs would be stockpiled by the States Parties. The basic module could consist of pallet-packed items, ready to be airlifted within 12 hours after the request for assistance has been received. The BAMs in the headquarters stockpile will be identical to the BAMs stored by States Parties. This will facilitate identification, packing, dispatch, and the delivery of assistance. 

Plant operations are also concerned with the overall picture of shipping, transportation, and distribution of products to engender minimal costs. For example, the frequency of ordering, the method of scheduling production, and scheduling delivery are critical to maintaining a low-cost operation. 

Customer order schedules need to be integrated with deliveries, production orders and procurement orders. Volumes and values are already defined. Therefore, the focus is on a time schedule of orders considering production and distribution lead times. Fig. 21 illustrates the main task in value chain operations also now focused on a geographical region such as Europe. The individual schedules of sales orders and purchase orders have to be integrated with distribution and production schedules.
