In conclusion, science and practice have demonstrated that both the US FDA soaking procedure (14 days at 40 °C) and the solventless contamination procedure (seven days at 50 °C) are suitable to evaluate decontamination technologies with respect to their potential for producing regulatory compliant food grade recycled PET.
