Deaerators illustration

Performance can be illustrated for example by the time necessary for deaeration or de-emulsification of oils, anti-rust properties, copper strip corrosion test, the flash point in closed or open cup, the cloud and pour points, the foaming characteristics, etc. [Pg.285]

Electron transfer was mediated by metallic silver colloids whose surfaces contained either a strong (SH ) or a weak (CN ) nucleophile [531]. The former case is illustrated by changes in the absorption spectrum of a 1.0 x 10 4 M, deaerated solution of metallic silver particles, subsequent to the consecutive addition of 2.0 x 10 4 M NaSH and 3.0 x 10-4 M anthracene quinone sulfonic acid, AQS (Fig. 85) [506]. The origin of the intensity decrease and the broadening of the silver plasmon absorption band upon the addition of nucleophilic SH is incompletely understood. However, that an absorption... [Pg.105]

Reaction scheme of photocatalytic decomposition of acetic acid under deaerated condition is analyzed based on the flow-rate dependence of the radical fomiation30) combined with the reported mechanism. In this scheme, CH3 radicals are formed via two reaction pathways. One is indirect oxidation via OH radicals which are formed by the oxidation of water with photoinduced holes (h+) at the valence band. Another is direct oxidation of adsorbed molecules by the hole. On the other hand, 011200011 radicals are not formed by direct oxidation but only by indirect oxidation via 0H radicals. The reaction scheme is proposed as illustrated in Fig. 5.7. [Pg.48]

Abramson and King (22) found that etched Fe cylinders dissolved somewhat faster than cylinders which were polished with fine abrasive paper between runs. The following experiment with a Ni cylinder illustrates the effect of progressive roughening (23). A cylinder 1.9x2.52 cm, cut from a rolled anode bar, was rotated at U = 18, 000 cm /min in 400 ml of deaerated solution containing 1M HC1 and 0.05M FeClg. Weight losses in consecutive three-minute periods were ... [Pg.367]

The problem of deaerated bituminous froth produced from the hot-water flotation of bitumen from oil sands can serve as an illustration. This... [Pg.41]

Permeability and Deaeration Various states of fluidization and pneumatic conveying exist for bulk solid. Fluidization and aeration behavior may be characterized by a fluidization test rig, as illustrated in Fig. 21-25. A loosely poured powder is supported by a porous or perforated distributor plate. The quahty and uniformity of this plate are critical to the design. Various methods of filling have been explored to include vibration and vacuum fiUing of related permeameters... [Pg.2262]

As an illustration, consider the problem of removing solids and water droplets from deaerated bituminous froth produced from the oil sands hot water flotation process (see Chapter 13 and reference 35). This is a nonaqueous suspension from which the particles and water droplets must be removed before upgrading and refining. At process temperature (80 °C) the suspension viscosity is similar to that of bitumen alone, but the density, because of the dispersed solids, is higher. Taking rj = 500 mPa s (35), px = 1.04 g/mL and p2 = 2.50 g/mL, the rate of settling of 10 pm diameter solid particles under gravitational force will be very slow ... [Pg.41]
