Data management status reporting

It should be apparent that the APR is a meaningful compilation of myriad critical data, records, and reports intended to provide quality management with a tool to evaluate the quality status of manufactured products. Handling unexpected trends becomes more manageable when there is a comprehensive APR process fully installed and operational. Evaluating trends might also provide an opportunity for process optimization, particularly when specifications seem to be drifting toward the upper or lower limits. 

A laboratory information management system (LIMS) is a computer or computer network used to automate the acquisition and management of raw analytical data. In its simplest form, it tracks samples and test results through analytical laboratories and provides summaries of the status of these samples and tests. In its most advanced form, the system is interfaced to the laboratory s instmmentation and communication network to allow automation of data gathering, compilation, and reporting. 

Reviewing the system by establishing appropriate accountability systems within the organization to monitor and report quality data and system status to management and assure that appropriate corrective and preventive actions are taken in response to quality problems using effective change control procedures and documented...

All the information, whether in accident books or report forms, will need to be analysed so that useful management data can be prepared. Many organizations look at analysis each month and annually. However, where there are very few incidents, quarterly may be sufficient. The health and safety information should be used alongside other business measures and should receive equal status.
