Data filtering

A major benefit of sampled data is the ability to store it. Once this data has been stored it can be analyzed, plotted and used in a simulator. A simulator reinstates the client/server paradigm, allowing the user to re-experience the inspection, synchronously. Different data filters and mappings can be used. For example, in Figure 4, a simple mapping... [Pg.1018]

The steps in developing such a database are (1) collection of machine and process data and (2) database setup. Input requirements of the software are machine and process specifications, analysis parameters, data filters, alert/alarm limits, and a variety of other parameters used to automate the data-acquisition process. [Pg.713]

The key elements of database setup discussed in this section are analysis parameter sets, data filters (i.e., band-widths, averaging, and weighting), limits for alerts and alarms, and data-acquisition routes. [Pg.715]

However, an important question that needs to be answered is "what constitutes a satisfactory polynomial fit " An answer can come from the following simple reasoning. The purpose of the polynomial fit is to smooth the data, namely, to remove only the measurement error (noise) from the data. If the mathematical (ODE) model under consideration is indeed the true model (or simply an adequate one) then the calculated values of the output vector based on the ODE model should correspond to the error-free measurements. Obviously, these model-calculated values should ideally be the same as the smoothed data assuming that the correct amount of data-filtering has taken place. [Pg.117]

This assumption can be relaxed when the experimental error in the independent variable is much smaller compared to the error present in the measurements of the dependent variable, In our case the assumption of simple linear least squares implies that Xvdt is known precisely. Although we do know that there are errors in the measurement of Xv, the polynomial fitting and the subsequent integration provides a certain amount of data filtering which could allows us to assume that experimental error in Jxvdt is negligible compared to that present in S(t,) or P(t,). [Pg.126]

If the LC part is optimized to deliver peaks in a shorter time or more peaks in the same time when compared to a conventional method, we must consider the system s ability to handle data. Because the speed optimization described above will produce much narrower peaks, widths below 1 sec can be achieved easily. However, the data acquisition rate and data filtering steps must be considered. [Pg.106]

Oftei you ll want to examine a subset of a list — only records for which one or more data fields match certain criteria. The process of abstracting a subset of a list is known as using a data filter or querying the database. The AutoFilter command makes it easy to obtain a subset of a list. [Pg.136]

To use a data filter on molecular weight (column B), click the arrow button in that column. Excel displays a drop-down list of all values in the column, plus "Custom...". To display all records that match one of the values in the selected field, you can select it from the list. To perform other logical comparisons, choose Custom... to display the Advanced Filter dialog box (Figure 6-6). [Pg.136]

You can add a second data filter on data in the same field using the Advanced Filter dialog box. The second filter can be either an And filter (e.g., samples with molecular weight greater than 12 kD and less than 15 kD) or an Or filter. [Pg.137]
