The product is air-stable and thermally stable for an indefinite period und r ambient conditions. IR (cm S CH2CI2) Vco 2023 (s), 1937 (s), 1902 (s). HNMR (5, CDCI3) 5.37 (s, CsHj). Solvent is removed from the flask by rotary evaporation, leaving a brown solid. This is extracted with acetone ( 1 L) and the extracts are filtered through Whatman No. 1 filter paper. Solvent is removed from the filtrate by rotary evaporation to give a yellow-brown solid.
