Not surprisingly, such customer focus is rewarded in the market-place (see Figure 3). High quality products mean reduced risk registrations and earlier sales, because of the faster registration process. Their broad applicability and lack of use restrictions mean more market penetration. The product also enjoys a longer lifetime, because it is harder to displace from the market.
