Crystallization Accelerators

Function Crystallization accelerator lubricant surface-finishing agent. [Pg.208]

By using a novel synthetic technique named DBMD, we succeeded in converting glass bulk materials by replacing the glassy part to MFI zeolite crystals from the surface to the inside. A thoroughly converted zeolitic tube and partially converted zeolitic fibers and fabric were prepared with this technique. Seed crystals accelerated crystallization and improved both coverage and uniformity of the crystals. [Pg.191]

Products and Uses It is an additive in chocolate (imitation), cocoa, confections, fats, and oil. Uses include as a crystallization accelerator, fermentation aid, formulation aid, fractionation aid, lubricant, release agent, surface-finishing agent, and winterization agent. [Pg.153]

Molded articles, in particular containers, such as bottles and jars, made from the polyester resin copolymers can be manufactured by using melt molding methods. Containers and bottles can be manufactured without the necessity of adding crystallization accelerators or crystallization retardants. The materials have low levels of acetaldehyde. ... [Pg.362]

Y, and Inoue, T. (1992) Aramid poly(ether sulfone) blend-crystallization accelerated by the presence of amorphous polymer. Polymer, 33 (15), 3210-3214. [Pg.205]

Actually, there is a difference in between nucleation rate and crystallization rate. Nucleation refers to the formation of the smallest entities that may subsequently form crystals. Crystallization accelerators refer to additives that promote the secondary steps of crystal growth, once nuclei are formed. [Pg.119]

Crystallization accelerators have been described for PAs. As crystallization accelerators, there are low molecular weight PAs, higher fatty acids, higher fatty acid esters and higher aliphatic alcohols, which may be used independently or in combination. [Pg.124]

During the spinning process, the polymer is subjected to an intense flow and to strong shear stresses, which can appreciably modify crystallization behaviour. The various studies available show an acceleration of crystallization under flow (Somani et al, 2000). During shear tests carried out before the isothermal crystallization of polypropylene, Lagasse and Maxwell (1976) highlighted the existence of a critical shear rate, beyond which the induction time decreases when the shear rate increases, the time before crystallization decreases under these conditions. However, certain studies (Vleeshouwers and Meijer, 1996) show that the use of the induction time as a parameter for the measurement of crystallization acceleration is not necessarily relevant. [Pg.37]

We believe that the fundamental understanding obtained in the present work sheds new light on polymorph-dependent crystallization accelerated by additives in O/W emulsions. [Pg.47]

For the crystallization at e < 60 s we observe nuclei at T = 10 minutes crystallization (=formation of spheru-lites) ceases after 11 hours. Rgure 4.18b shows a typical example for e(S) = 3 s" Therefore, the crystallization accelerates shghtly under a weak elongational field. [Pg.142]
