Where PPCPs are taken up by crops, effects on the consumers (i.e., humans and livestock) cannot be mled as these kinds of studies have not yet been extensively conducted. The active allelopathic compounds differ with respect to each crop and, in many cases, the mode of action for nematode suppression and the effects on nematode chemotaxis have not been established.
