Trinuclear basic acetates [Ru30(02CMe)gL3]+ have also been prepared apparently with the same constitution as the analogous Fe and Cr compounds (p. 1030). [Pg.1091]

Some proprietary blends of magnesium oxide and zinc in the desired proportions for CR compounds are available with the addition of some processing additives to ensure the best dispersion characteristics. [Pg.132]

For compounds (2) and (3) there is no reason to question the assignment of triple bonds and a double bond, respectively. The structure of the Cr compound of type (2) has been shown in Fig. 1. The structure of (3) is shown in Fig. 4(a). Such bonds are consistent with the attainment of 18-electron configurations. [Pg.205]

Purification of industrial grade Cr to produce reagent-grade Cr compounds could involve processes in which 1) Cr isotope fractionation occurs and 2) fractionated Cr is lost so that the final product is shifted in 5 Cr from the initial Cr. Such an effect is suggested by the slightly positive 5 Cr values of the two reagent-grade Cr compounds listed in Table 7. However, the differences are very small. [Pg.311]

For example, Plaper et al. (2002) state that three Cr + compounds were examined (work done In the past) but that the hydroxyl radical is a known mediator of DNA damage (knowledge that exists in the present). Similarly, the present-tense, active-voice combination Is used in the Discussion section to state scientific truths (knowledge expected to be true over time), just as it was in the Results section. Note that Interpretations and/or mechanisms put forth in a Discussion section are often considered to be truths and therefore are stated in present-tense active voice. Table 5.1 summarizes common verb tense—voice combinations and their functions, with example sentences. [Pg.187]

P8 In numerous studies, Cr + compounds have been shown to be... [Pg.211]

The population of the destabilized e g orbitals is larger for the Co complexes than for the Cr compounds listed, a trend with increasing number of electrons reproduced in the sulfides discussed in the following section. A population of more than two electrons of the e g orbitals implies population of the antibonding metal-ligand orbitals, a state only reached in the Co(II) complex listed in the last column. The total number of d electrons, however, seems to correlate more with the element than with the specific valence state of the element, as there is no systematic difference between the Co(II) amd Co(III) complexes. But the number of available studies is still too small to allow more general conclusions. [Pg.228]

Chromium forms both the chromous (Cr2+) and chromic (Cr +) compounds that are highly colored. [Pg.217]

The compounding of CR with fillers and vulcanization ingredients was done by a laboratory size open two-roll mixing mill. All the weights are given in parts per hundred parts of rubber and the recipe for the CR compounds is given in Table 4. [Pg.101]

The resulting product is, however, an N-substituted oxazolidine amino acid, but this can easily be removed by either reductive or oxidative (Fig. 7) procedures. These and similar reactions can be used to prepare y-hydroxy-a-amino acids, arylglycines, a-alkyl-a-amino acids, and a variety of nonproteinogenic dipeptides (Fig. 7). The review by Muzart (58) is an excellent source of further information on the use of Cr compounds in organic synthesis. [Pg.352]

Zn is attacked very rapidly and so is Cu. Fe reacts in the presence of moisture, with the formation of ammonia (Ref 122a). According to Kast (Ref 31), the presence of KMnO< may cause the spontaneous ignition of AN. In- vestigations conducted at Pic Arsn (Ref 88) showed that different Cr compounds catalyze... [Pg.318]

CrXi, which dissolve in water with the evolution of heal, although the fluoride is less soluble than the other halides. The ammoniacal solution of chromium(II) sulfate, CrS04, is particularly reactive with gases, not only with oxygen like the other Cr compounds, but also acetylene. Chromium(II) acetate is only slightly soluble in HiO... [Pg.382]

If the phenyl groups are replaced by cyclopentadienyl groups, the corresponding cr compounds, di-cr-cyclopentadienyliron chloride monotet-rahydrofuranate (4) and tris-cr-cyclopentadienyliron (6) are quite unstable and rearrange to ferrocenium chloride (5) and ferrocene (7), respectively, on loss of tetrahydrofuran above -50°, on treatment with an organic solvent at - 60°, or under vacuum at - 60° (75, 16). [Pg.231]
