The equatiems of Billet [177], Eqs. (78) and (79), respective values of Co and Eq. (80) with can be also used tor calculation of the liquid holdup of structined corrugated packings. For the last equation the respective values of Ck for different parkings are jni mitBd in Table 41. 

Rukovena and Koshy [291] present also the value of the maximum efficient capacity factor C,c (see Eq. (248) and Fig. 11 in Chapter 1) as a function of the flow parameter X for diifoent hi y effective corrugated packings. The data are given in Fig. 131. 

Fair and Bravo [262,263] discussed the expected incomplete wetting of die surface of sheet metal corrugated packings and proposed that at n flood conditions the effective inter cial area should be about die same as the specific surfece area of the packii. Below the flood point, the followii pirical equation was suggested, based on total reflux distillation Judies.

Aroonwilas and Tontiwaohwuthikul [296] mentioned that the necessary experimental information about the structured corrugated packings can be found in Kister and Gill [298].

The Flat Bar plate type SP-P [1], Figs. 10 and 11 consists of a flame, which lies on the support ring. It is especially proper for corrugated packings, for packings fixim expanded metal, and for structured packinj with vertical walls. 

The deflecting rings are patented in 1972 [19] and since then fliey have been implemented in industry in many columns for absorption, desorption, and distillation processes, to eliminate the wall effect. [97, 98, 114-118]. The same is the action of the metal bounds (usually mesh bounds) used in case of some corrugated packings, presented in Fig. 20.
