Copolymers Copper

Other articles of interest on photostabilization include oligomeric azomethanes and carbazolesulphonanilates in cellulose acetate, phos-phonates in impact resistant polystyrene, manganese and heterocyclic compounds in polyamides, transition-metal compounds in u.v.-curable resins, oxanilides in paints, phosphites in styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer, copper... [Pg.550]

Ethylene—tetrafluoroethylene copolymers respond weU to melt bonding to untreated aluminum, steel, and copper with peel strengths above 3.5 kN/m (20 Ibf/in.). Eor melt bonding to itself, hot-plate welding is used. The material is heated to 271—276°C, and the parts are pressed together during cooling. [Pg.370]

Control and signal cables are made up of fine copper wire strands of plain electrolytic copper wire with PVC or EPR-based insulation and an outer jacket of special PVC or ethylene copolymers. [Pg.324]

The copolymers have been used in the manufacture of extruded pipe, moulded fittings and for other items of chemical plant. They are, however, rarely used in Europe for this purpose because of cost and the low maximum service temperature. Processing conditions are adjusted to give a high amount of crystallinity, for example by the use of moulds at about 90°C. Heated parts of injection cylinders and extruder barrels which come into contact with the molten polymer should be made of special materials which do not cause decomposition of the polymer. Iron, steel and copper must be avoided. The danger of thermal decomposition may be reduced by streamlining the interior of the cylinder or barrel to avoid dead-spots and by careful temperature control. Steam heating is frequently employed. [Pg.468]

Thorough rinsing between the pretreatment steps is essential to prevent carry-over of solutions. The commonest plastic plated is ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene copolymer) but procedures are also available for polypropylene and other plastics. In some proprietary processes, electroless copper solutions are used to give the initial thin conducting layer. [Pg.536]

ARGET ATRP has been successfully applied for polymerization of methyl methacrylate, ft-butyl acrylate and styrene in the presence of Sn(EH)2 (10 mol% vs. alkyl halide initiator or 0.07 mol% vs. monomer) [164,165]. For all monomers, polymerizations were well controlled using between 10 and 50 ppm of copper complexes with highly active TPMA and Me6TREN ligands. ARGET ATRP has also been utilized in the synthesis of block copolymers (poly(n-butyl acrylate)— -polystyrene and polystyrene-Z -poly(n-butyl acrylate) [164,165] and grafting... [Pg.245]
