Contract Data

Vendor contract data shall be fumi shed and maintained as specified in Appendix O. Each drawing, bill of material, and data sheet shall have a title block in its lower right-hand comer that shows the date of certification, a reference to all identification data specified in 6.1.2, the revision number and date, and the title. 

Contract data shall be furnished by the vendor in accordance with the agreed VDDR form (see example in Annex L). 

The Collapsible Tube Manufacturers Association collects data on collapsible tubes for tooth paste, medicinal, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, household, and similar products. Tubes made of tin, lead, a combination of tin and lead, and aluminum are considered. Information on production, shipments, new orders, and exports is available monthly and annually. A contract is a legal agreement between two or more competent parties. In the systems acquisition process, a contract is typically between the government and a contractor, whereby the contractor develops and produces a product or system for the government. In addition to specified performance requirements, contract requirements include those requirements defined in the statement of work (SOW) specifications, standards, and related documents the Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) management systems and contract terms and conditions. 

A CDRL is a DD Form 1423 list of contract data requirements that are authorized for a specific acquisition and made a part of the contract. All data delivered under contract must be specified by CDRL. The managing authority prepares the CDRL to require that the data package will be prepared and forwarded through the procurement agency, in sufficient copies, at the appropriate date to support program milestones. Many CDRLs refer to an existing Data Item Description (DID) for data format and content.
