Context sensitive help

The user-friendliness is enhanced by the context-sensitive help, available in all modes of processing. The help window may be permanently present on the screen (reducing the part of the screen used for draw/display of structures) or it may be called in only when actually needed. When the help window is opened, its contents are updated automatically with the selection of menu and submenu items.

Descriptions are used in context sensitive help and in hint boxes to describe the function of the field in detail. 

Accordingly, the stmeture entry menu is restricted to one line at the top of the screen, as shown in Figure 1, and all sub-menus are similarly constmeted. The second line of the screen is reserved for one-line, terse prompts that instmet the user in what to do next. These prompts can be ignored by the experienced user. The prompts, which change as each operation is completed, provide subliminal feedback to let the user know that the current operation has been carried out In addition, context-sensitive help screens are available for all menu or sub-menu items. 

Ease of use and intuitiveness The software should have features to help automate the modelbuilding process. Desirable features might include menu-driven operation, fill-in menus, and prompting for omitted values. The casual user requires online, context-sensitive help in the model-building process. The software should be accessible in an interactive mode. 

Readers of this book should not forget (nor underestimate) the quality of the documentation that came with the program from Sonic Foundry. This text should be seen as a supplement to these primary references and not as a substitute. Read the manual, pause the mouse cursor over unfamiliar items in the UI to get ToolTips, watch the Status Bar at the bottom of the program, and don t forget to use Fl for specific context sensitive Help on just about anything. Finally, check out Sonic Foundry s Web site and user forums. The discussions that occur on ACIDPlanet can often be nearly as interesting as the music that shows up there.

The operator fnendliness of the system is of paramount importance. The better and more advanced sterns have context-sensitive help keys that make the proper help instructions immediately available to the operator. 

A more principled approach is to define a general rule format, a mle processor or engine and a clearly defined set of rules. This at least has the advantage of engine/rule separation meaning that the way the rules are processed and the rules themselves are separate, which helps with system maintenance, optimisation, modularity and e q)ansion to other languages. One common type of rule is the context-sensitive rewrite rule, which takes the form...

Alternatively, online help is available through the menu bar under Help. The question mark button on the tool bar will also invoke the Help Browser. Starting with 2008 releases, you can invoke a context-sensitive function browser, which lies on the left of the command prompt, and has the symbol f. You may type, for example, the command plot, and MATLAB will attempt to find all related MATLAB functions that include the word plot as part of their function names (Fig. 1.7). 

Microwave spectroscopy is probably the ultimate tool to study small alcohol clusters in vacuum isolation. With the help of isotope substitution and auxiliary quantum chemical calculations, it provides structural insights and quantitative bond parameters for alcohol clusters [117, 143], The methyl rotors that are omnipresent in organic alcohols complicate the analysis, so that not many alcohol clusters have been studied with this technique and its higher-frequency variants. The studied systems include methanol dimer [143], ethanol dimer [91], butan-2-ol dimer [117], and mixed dimers such as propylene oxide with ethanol [144]. The study of alcohol monomers with intramolecular hydrogen-bond-like interactions [102, 110, 129, 145 147] must be mentioned in this context. In a broader sense, this also applies to isolated ra-alkanols, where a weak Cy H O hydrogen bond stabilizes certain conformations [69,102]. Microwave techniques can also be used to unravel the information contained in the IR spectrum of clusters with high sensitivity [148], Furthermore, high-resolution UV spectroscopy can provide accurate structural information in suitable systems [149, 150] and thus complement microwave spectroscopy. 

Modern NMR techniques such as quantitative analysis of multisite exchange using either ID magnetization transfer experiments (JOS) or the 2D exchange spectroscopy (EXSY) method (104,105) promise to be of great help in unraveling the complex stereochemical exchange networks involved in cluster fluxionality. The usefulness of EXSY in the context of this article is illustrated by the phase-sensitive 13C 1H EXSY spectrum (255 K, tm = 0.5 sec)... 

A wide variety of medications have been found to sometimes be helpful in self-injurious behavior. Those that have been found to sometimes be helpful in self-injurious behavior in the context of a personality disorder, including MAO inhibitors, SSRIs, carbamazepine, lithium, antipsychotics, and benzodiazepines. The choice of medication should be based on the associated features present. Thus, when depressive features are present, try an SSRI when there are symptoms of atypical depression and rejection sensitivity, an MAOI and when psychotic features are present, an antipsychotic. This is an area where there are no clear guidelines for medication use and no guarantee of effectiveness. However, using trial and error, one can often find a drug that has significant benefit. 

In the context of the various concepts that have been advanced to help elucidate detonation initiation and sensitivity, we will use TATB to illustrate the variety of molecular factors that can be involved, some having apparently opposing effects. Luminescence appears in mechanistic chemistry in two distinct contexts. The details of the emission process itself are important in photochemistry, which is considered in Section 8. In other applications, fluorescence is simply an assay for qualitative and quantitative analyses. Good selectivity and sensitivity have earned it a role in commercial apparatus. However, the sensitivity is compromised by the small windows of a high-pressure cell, which limit the solid angle available. Laser sources help, but they restrict luminescence methods to specialized facilities. It is important to understand the polarization artefacts which may be introduced by thick windows and to appreciate that they may change with pressure. Many optical elements, including monochromators, have transmission properties that depend on the polarization.
