Consciousness latent

At the very basis of SKEYS is the psychological construct called the schema, a non-conscious, latent structure for a person to organize his world and take action. The schema enables the person to interpret his or her experiences. External stimuli, situations, and life events activate latent schemas, triggering specific positive or negative behavioral patterns. It is these external stimuli which are to be studied through experimentation, but first understood through the schema. [Pg.513]

Rey and coworkers78 reported methyltin intoxication in six chemical workers exposed to Me2SnCl2 and MesSnCI. After a latent period of 1 -3 days, the first symptoms occurred, including headache, tinnitus, deafness, impair of memory, disorientation, aggressiveness, psychotic behavior, syncope, loss of consciousness and, in the most severe cases, respiratory depression requiring ventilatory assistance. The systems approach can also be applied within the ordinary d-SoC to deal with identity states, those rapid shifts in the central core of a person s identity and concerns that are overlooked for many reasons, and emotional states. Similarly the systems approach indicates that latent human potential can be developed and used in various d-ASCs, so that learning to shift into the d-ASC appropriate for dealing with a particular problem is part of psychological growth. At the opposite extreme, certain kinds of psychopathology, such as multiple personality, can be treat as d-ASCs. [Pg.9]

If the imaginal realm is real, then it is time to begin making it conscious. No longer the arcane pursuit of seers and mystics, the survival of our species may now depend on its capacity to live in the unus mundus. If this mutation is latent then conceivably it is contingent upon our choice to be- come its living catalyst. Such a choice is ultimately a no-lose proposition. [Pg.258]
