Computer Pascal

Pascal 1. A SI unit of measurement of pressure equal to the pressure resulting from a force of 1 Newton acting uniformly over an area of 1 square meter. It is used to denote the pressure of mechanical behavior of materials under pressure. 2, See computer Pascal, paste A material compound and adhesive composition of semisolid consistency, usually dispersed in water. See mixer, double-arm mixer, paddle agitator extruder paste. [Pg.401]

The Pascal code was updated to handle four channels. To follow the inspection speed all raw measuring data were captured and stored in the computer. All data for one coil could be stored in the computer memory (RAM) and transferred to the disk before inspection of the next coil. Evaluation of the data could be performed on-line or later using a special evaluation program. [Pg.900]

This big increase in speed has not been without cost. The everyday machine codes and high-level languages (Fortran, Pascal, C, etc.) used to control operations in a standard computer are inappropriate for parallel processing, which needs its own instruction set and has led to the development of special languages for use with the transputer. [Pg.314]

Software programs are usually written in a more user-friendly high-level language such as Fortran, Pascal, or C, which facilitates the tedious and labor-intensive task of writing a computer program. [Pg.419]

This book describes and gives Fortran subroutines for a wide variety of ODE solvers. More to the point, it gives numerical recipes for practically anything you will ever need to compute. Volume 2 is also available online. It discusses Fortran 90 in the context of parallel computing. C, Pascal, and Basic versions of Volume 1 can be purchased. [Pg.76]

RS/1 represents a distinct contrast to earlier scientific software. In general, early software used by scientists took three primary forms. (1) Languages such as FORTRAN, BASIC, and PASCAL were helpful in supporting highly computational applications, but were not designed to support research data management. [Pg.24]

The book explains how to solve coupled systems of ordinary differential equations of the kind that commonly arise in the quantitative description of the evolution of environmental properties. All of the computations that I shall describe can be performed on a personal computer, and all of the programs can be written in such familiar languages as BASIC, PASCAL, or FORTRAN. My goal is to teach the methods of computational simulation of environmental change, and so I do not favor the use of professionally developed black-box programs. [Pg.4]

External Processes. The Radial language supports interfacing to software written in the various computer languages available under UNIX Fortran, C, Pascal, Lisp, etc. The Radial language takes care of the details of passing arguments to and from external routines. This capability allows Radial to be used Just for the... [Pg.23]

Enlightening conversations with Dr. Elaine Rich (Department of Computer Science, University of Texas) are gratefully acknowledged. Mr. James Wells wrote the Pascal programs which allow input and output via mnemonic strings of characters. This research was sponsored in part by the Robert A. Welch Foundation, Research Corporation, and NSF (MCS-8122039). Additional support was provided by a National Science Foundation Graduate Fellowship to RAL. [Pg.224]

Additionally, use of a commercial AI shell for expert system development has been demonstrated without the need to learn computer programming languages (C, Pascal, LISP or any of its variations), nor to have an intermediary knowledge engineer. Although this development effort of 4-5 man months was on a minicomputer, adaptation of EXMAT to the microcomputer version of TIMM is anticipated. The completed implementation of EXMAT will support the belief that AI combined with intelligent instrumentation can have a major impact on future analytical problem-solving. [Pg.376]

Indeed solutions to several practical problems have been demonstrated, e.g., computation of Pascal s triangle modulo 2 [151], exclusive or (XOR) calculation using triple crossover [152] or string tiles [151]. Again, the annual conference Foundations of Nanoscience [143] provides a good review of the status of development of DNA computation by self assembly. Fig. 23 presents several AFM demonstrations of computation driven by DNA programmed self-assembly. [Pg.143]

Calculations were performed on an IBM 486 computer under MS-DOS 5.0 using the home-made software package SOLEX (Systematical Optimisation of Liquid Extraction) written in Pascal. [Pg.286]
