The NRC also imposes special security requirements for spent fuel shipments and transport of highly enriched uranium or plutonium materials that can be used in the manufacture of nuclear weapons. These security measures include route evaluation, escort personnel and vehicles, communications capabiHties, and emergency plans. State governments are notified in advance of any planned shipment within their state of spent fuel, or any other radioactive materials requiring shipment in accident-proof. Type B containers. 

In 1878 the term enzyme, Greek for "in yeast," was proposed (8). It was reasoned that chemical compounds capable of catalysis, ie, ptyalin (amylase from sahva), pepsin, and others, should not be called ferments, as this term was already in use for yeast cells and other organisms. However, proof was not given for the actual existence of enzymes. EinaHy, in 1897, it was demonstrated that ceU-free yeast extract ("zymase") could convert glucose into ethanol and carbon dioxide in exactiy the same way as viable yeast cells. It took some time before these experiments and deductions were completely understood and accepted by the scientific community. 

In this section, we shall state the final theorem necessary to give unity to the previous results if RT < CT, then reliable communication is possible with as small an error probability as desired. This remarkable theorem was first stated and essentially proved in 1948 by C. E. Shannon.10 The first rigorous proof of the theorem was given by Feinstein,11 and a number of other proofs and generalizations have subsequently been given. 

There is essentially no other question which more vigorously splits the micro reactor and even the chemical community into groups of complete stances. Rey s work seems to have made no impression on his times. This is in part explained by very much in his treatise which shows a curious lack of understanding of elementary physics. The timeliness of a manuscript is more important than its form, which may be unfinished or tentative. Thus, in some instances, proofs may be merely outlined and results presented which have been or will later be published elsewhere. If possible, a subject index should be included. Publication of Lecture Notes is intended as a service to the international chemical community, in that a commercial publisher, Springer-Verlag, can offer a wider distribution to documents which would otherwise have a restricted readership. Once published and copyrighted, they can be documented in the scientific literature.
