Combustion reactions future research

Information presented also indicated that several catalytic reactions are possible on particulate matter, and that future studies should include better data on size and chemical characteristics of particulate matter. In fact, mobile discharges have a high moisture content, reactive acid anhydrides (e.g., NO2) catalytic-adsorptive particulate matter, and contain reactive PAH species. Future research must deal with this reactive matrix and better identify the products of combustion and the reactions induced by sampling the emission stream. 

Research on the direct conversion of chemical energy to electricity via fuel cells has received considerable attention in the past decades. Fuel cells are indeed attractive alternatives to combustion engines for electrical power generation in transportation applications and also as promising future power sources, especially for mobile and portable applications. Thus, the search for excellent electrocatalysts for the electro-catalytic oxygen reduction and methanol oxidation reactions, which are the two important cathodic and anodic reactions in fuel cells, is intensively pursued by scientists...

For future combustion simulations, we have listed in Table 1 the molecular parameters and heats of formation of key species involved in the reactions studied. Table 2 summarizes the predicted rate constants calculated for varying experimental conditions covering those relevant to the stratosphere 03-destruction and AP combustion chemistry for applications by scientists in both research communities.
