Removal of the article from the mold is lengthy process because anti-adhesive lubricants have to be sprayed on the on a mold surface before every injection, in an operation that takes up to 25 - 30% of the full cycle. In reactive molding of polyurethane-based compounds, internal lubricants are used in combination with surface coatings. This allows us to remove articles from a mold many times with a single coating treatment. One of the compounds used as an internal lubricant is silicon-organic liquids. [Pg.183]

There are two major processes for the manufacture of titanium dioxide pigments, namely (1) sulfate route and (2) chloride route. In the sulfate process, the ore limonite, Fe0Ti02, is dissolved in sulfuric acid and the resultant solution is hydrolyzed by boiling to produce a hydrated oxide, while the iron remains in solution. The precipitated titanium hydrate is washed and leached free of soluble impurities. Controlled calcinations at about 1000°C produce pigmentary titanium dioxide of the correct crystal size distribution this material is then subjected to a finishing coating treatment and milling. The process flow sheet is shown in Fig. 7.1 [4],... [Pg.211]

Protection of exterior reconstituted panel products (in particular particle board) by surface coatings, treatments and overlays, and subsequent weathering performance, has received considerable attention (J, JJ, 74, J33, 153-155, 157-159), Painted and overlaid boards are much more durable than unfinished boards. Addition of wax as a water repellent benefits performance of the boards, but does not protect against water vapor (J, 11, 74). [Pg.445]

Ali, Hung and Yongyi (2010) reviewed the application of focused ion beam (FIB) sputtering for micro/nano fabrication. Although less relevant for discussion of bioceramic coatings, treatment of basic principles of FIB, and evaluation of empirical and fundamental models for sputtering yield, material removal rate and surface roughness were presented and compared. Fabrication of various micro- and nanostructures was discussed. [Pg.164]
