Utensils cleaning

Use clean containers to collect and store water and clean utensils to dispense stored water. 

Weighing and dispensing operations must be carried out with clean utensils and apparatus. 

Since the seventies, information has been published on the bacterial content of domestic environments. As a reference, the occurrence of potential pathogens and the levels of contamination at individual sites, particularly in the kitchen, toilet, and bathroom, has been described after an investigation of the bacterial flora in over 200 homes [28]. The recommendation is that better hygiene procedures are to be developed for the potential reservoir sites (U-tubes), disseminator sites (wet cloths and wet cleaning utensils), contact transfer sites (toilet seats and handle), and food-contact sites. 

Sanitization is a cleaning procedure that reduces microbial contaminants on certain surfaces to safe or relatively safe levels, as defined by the EPA or pubHc health authorities. The article is usually cleaned with hot water and various germicidal detergents. Sanitization can be safe for a product in contact with intact skin or for food utensils, but it is not considered safe for articles to be inserted in the human body. Effective sanitization is a requirement in the processing of reusable medical suppHes before packaging and sterilization. It is also a requirement in the maintenance of utensils and containers used for food preparation. 

There are a number of CRMs available for this group of elements in semm and urine (see Table 6.3). The most severe problems with the determination of these trace elements are contamination and loss. Therefore, strict protocols are necessary to prevent these problems. Contamination can be prevented by cleaning thoroughly all used utensils, and the use of highly purified chemicals. These metal analyses indicate a marked reduction of both titanium and iron in the dialytic extract relative to both the coal and the soxhlet extract. The question remaining is, how much of this metal is background It should be noted here that attainment of good trace element analyses in the low ppm range requires very careful experimental precautions and replicate analyses.
