Cis-olefins or cis./rjns-dienes can be obtained from alkynes in similar reaction sequences. The alkyne is first hydroborated and then treated with alkaline iodine. If the other substituents on boron are alkyl groups, a cis-olefin is formed (G. Zweifel, 1967). If they are cir-alkenyls, a cis, trans-diene results. In addition to the CIR process the cosmetic industry has instituted a second, important, self-regulatory procedure the voluntary reporting of adverse reactions, which is intended to provide data on the type and incidence of adverse reactions noted by consumers or by their medical advisors. This reporting procedure creates early awareness of problems handled outside hospital emergency facilities or centers for acute poisoning.

For the standby pump start test, which is an important test to ensure the pumps transfer without large pressure swings, a check should be made to see if the relief valves lift or the pressure falls to a pressure one half the difference between the standby pump start pressure and the compressor trip pressure.
