Choosing wiring systems

Choose between the tray column, the randomly packed column, and the systematically packed column. It is unlikely that a single 300-ft tray column or a 400-ft randomly packed column would be installed for this system. In addition, multiple-column operation, by its nature, is expensive. So it is reasonable to opt for the 131 -ft column containing systematically packed corrugated-wire-gauze... 

Long-term behavior of insulation systems can be estimated after the temperature index has been determined by the impregnated twisted pair test (IEC 172, criterion breakdown voltage) or helical coil test (IEC 1033, Method B, criterion bond strength). The two tests lead to differing results that do not correlate and the end user of the system enameled wire/impregnating resin has to decide which test is applicable for his electrical appliance. It is important to choose a suitable combination of materials and to ensure close cooperation between manufacturers of electrical insulating materials and those who later process them. 

Hard wiring and direct digital communication are two ways to provide the interface between control systems. If the plant chooses direct digital interfacing, the packaged system software programming must be protected against improper access from the main control system. 

Choose between full protection or selected protection. EnU protection means a larger system, and selected protection means less capacity and special wiring costs. If needs increase in the future, consideration given to expansion can pay off. 

Yet another manufacturing software system that can be readily integrated with PAIRS Is a Computer Aided Fixture Selection (CAFS) system. The Input to this system is also a 2-D wire frame CAD data base (output of PAIRS) along with the output of a process planning system. This system Is capable of selecting fixtures for concentric rotational parts.
