Chlorella sorokiniana

Chlorella sorokiniana var. pacificensis were treated with 180 ppm O3 for 50 min in autotrophic media. Lipids were extracted by using Chloroform/methanol and prepared for gas-liquid chromatography (GLC) as described by Frederick and Heath (24). The average % concentration of fatty acids were calculated from 3 GLC runs in 5 separate samples. The O3/O2 column refers to ratios of average % concentration and represents standard deviation. Confidence Level was calculated by least squares analysis. [Pg.73]

The F,/Fm ratios of Chlamydomorm reinhardtii (Fig. 3A) and Chlorella sorokiniana (Fig. 3B) during the exposure to fast neutrons are expressed as percentage of the initial values for each sample. In The control sample (not irradiated) kept at 120 pmol photons/m s the Fy/Fm ratio showed almost constant during the experiment. [Pg.198]

The MW of the NADP-dependent GDH of Chlorella sorokiniana (Grones-tajski et al., 1978) was also shown to be 290,000, while the subunits have a MW of 58,000, indicating that this enzyme is also hexameric. The NAD-... [Pg.279]

Fig. 5 Percentage of reduced P700 as a function of reduced plastocyanin and reduced cytochrome during the course of a continuous illumination. S52 strain of Chlorella sorokiniana.
We underwent preliminary experiments with the S52 mutant strain of Chlorella sorokiniana lacking PSII and the major fraction of the chlorophyll antenna, in which we studied the electron transfer reactions between primary and secondary PSI donors. These experiments were performed in the presence of ascorbate, in benzoquinone-treated algae. [Pg.2149]

On the other hand, the high enantioselectivity for 81a was observed in the biotransformation of racemic (+)-tra i-carveol (81a) and -)-trans-carveol (81a ) by Chlorella sorokiniana SAG to give (-) -carvone (93 ). [Pg.804]

Racemic a-ionone (513) was converted to 4-hydroxy-a-ionone (514), which was further dehydrogenated to 4-oxo-a-ionone (515) by Chlorella ellipsoidea IAMC-27 and C. vulgaris IAMC-209. a-Ionone (513) was reduced preferentially to a-ionol (516) by Chlorella sorokiniana and Chlorella salina (Noma et al. 1997b). [Pg.992]
