Market forces determine the demand for a product, and the demand will be used to forecast the sales of hydrocarbons. This will be one of the factors considered by some governments when setting the production targets for the oil company. For example, much of the gas produced in the South China Sea is liquefied and exported by tanker to Japan for industrial and domestic use the contract agreed with the Japanese purchaser will drive the production levels set by the National Oil Company. [Pg.346]

Chloroprene has been detected in industrial wastewater and nearby groundwater in the People s Republic of China (Huang et al., 1996), in wastewaters from polychloroprene and dichlorobutadiene production plants in Russia (Avetisyan et al., 1981 Geodakyan et al., 1981) and in waste gas from a chloroprene plant in Japan (Kawata et al., 1982). [Pg.230]

As mentioned, the aim of the study is to develop desulfurization equipment of industrial interest so understanding its general performance is important. Several sets of typical operation data measured under stable operations are listed in Table 7.5. The comparable data are depending on coal type, S02 content in flue gas ranges from 1400 to 11400 mg/m while the permitted discharge level in China is normally 1200 mg/m3. The data show that the designed equipment exhibits satisfactory global performance and meets the requirements for desulfurization by wet process. Under moderate operation conditions, the content of S02 in the cleaned gas can achieve a much lower level than that permitted. Even if the mole ratio of Ca/S is as low as 1.0, a sulfur-removal efficiency of nearly 90% can be achieved (see the fourth row in Table 7.5) while the pressure drop across the reactor is very small, ca. 400 Pa only. [Pg.177]

In the mid-1990 s the ammonia industry accounted for about 5% of the worldwide natural gas consumption. For economic and environmental reasons, natural gas is the feedstock of choice. However, processes for ammonia production can use a wide range of energy sources. For example, in 2001 60% of China s nitrogen fertilizer production was based on coal. In 2002 natural gas is the most economic feedstock for the production of ammonia as shown in Table 6.736. [Pg.195]
