Chemiluminescence detection system

We also examined the preservation stability of the photoimmobilized antibodies. Although the reactivity of the antibodies dropped away over a period of 10 days when they were stored at room temperature, it was maintained for about 2 months when stored at 4°C. This result is acceptable in terms of commercial viability, though further increase in stability would be preferable. We next examined the sensitivity for the immunochips. An immu-nochip usually has a two-dimensional surface, so the detection limit for antigens can be estimated from the amount of immobilized antibodies that are present. It was difficult to increase the sensitivity of a detection system which uses a photoluminescence probe. However, we succeeded in obtaining higher sensitivity for an immunochip in which we adopted a chemiluminescence detection system using an enzyme reaction. [Pg.266]

In Far-Western blotting the membrane is probed with another protein to detect specific protein-protein interactions (24). The reaction can be revealed using biotinylated or GST-tagged bait or probe protein followed by a streptavidin-HRP or an anti-GST-HRP chemiluminescent detection system, respectively. [Pg.121]

A similar technique that bypasses the electrophoretic separation step is known as dot blotting. A protein sample to he analyzed is applied to a membrane surface as a small dot and dried. The membrane is then exposed to a labeled antibody specific for the test antigen contained in the dotted protein mixture. After washing, bound labeled antibody is detected with a photometric or chemiluminescent detection system. [Pg.228]

In this study, the concentrations of several kinds of nitro-PAH, such as 1-nitropyrene (1-NP), 2-nitropyrene (2-NP), 2-nitrofluoranthene (2-NF), and 2-NTP, in the soluble organic fraction of airborne particles were determined by a column switching HPLC-chemiluminescence detection system in order to clarify the occurrence and behaviour of 2-NTP in the atmosphere. [Pg.409]

Both flow-based and array-based chemiluminescence detection systems have been incorporated into micro total analysis systems (pTAS) and other microfluidic devices in conjunction with the myriad recent advances and innovations in microfluidics technology such as device fabrication, sample and reagent preparation and handling, and analyte selectivity, as described throughout this Encyclopedia. [Pg.434]

Biotinylated PCR products For purposes of nonradioactive detection, a single biotin molecule is incorporated into the 5 end of one or both of the PCR primer pairs. The biotinylated PCR products are used in a chemiluminescent detection system as described below. Attachment of biotin molecules to oligonucleotides has been described in detail (12).
