Popov VL (1982) Rheological properties of norplastics and composites on their basis. Candidacy thesis. Institute of Chemical Physics AN SSSR publication, Moscow... [Pg.62]

It should be borne in mind in the case of project and postgraduate students, when embarking on their programme of work, that their experimental record may be the source material for subsequent publication in the chemical literature, the basis upon which the project report or thesis will be written, and the framework from which further studies may develop. [Pg.33]

The last strategy is the use of supramolecular binding in catalyst immobilization. Immobilization of efficient homogeneous catalysts has been investigated extensively. Except for one case, the thousands of publications and patents have not led to industrial applications. In the s)m-thesis of fine chemicals, homogeneous catalysts may be removed in a column, but crystallization of the product is the preferred operation. In bulk chemical s)mthesis, we find all the unit operations applied to effect separation of the catalyst from the product mixture. [Pg.122]

The support of United States Public Health Service under Grant HL 20079 is gratefully acknowledged. J. J. Wu synthesized the PMMA and the polyacrylates. The cross-linked poly(vinyl alcohol) was prepared by John Frenz as part of his M. S. thesis (MIT, Department of Chemical Engineering, January 1980). [Pg.48]

Nielsen, Anita Kildebsek received her Ph.D. degree from the University of Aarhus in 2000 with a thesis analysing the social and institutional networks of Danish chemists in the early twentieth century. She was assistant professor in Aarhus from 2001 until 2004 and subsequently held a postdoctoral position at the University of Copenhagen until 2006. She currently works as head of administration at the Technical University of Denmark. Anita is vice chairman of the Danish Society for the History of Chemistry, Denmark s representative in the Federation of European Chemical Societies Working Party on History of Chemistry, and is on the editorial boards of the history journal 1066 and of the journal of the Danish Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, BioZoom. She has specialized in the history of chemistry, biochemistry and medicine in Denmark in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, and her publications include essays on Danish Nobel Laureates and chapters in Dansk Naturvidenskabs Historic, 2005-2006. [Pg.354]

Sceptical writers assert that these declarations had little practical significance. They claim correctly that research on offensive and defensive aspects of chemical warfare was continued in the major countries, and that the public was cynically deceived. Harris and Paxman quote selectively from the official history of Porton to buttress this thesis. They reproduce the following passage ... [Pg.47]

The current situation in electrode kinetics is thoroughly presented in Vetter s book. Useful but rather specialized reviews are the recent ones by Parsons and Frumkin. Gierst s 1958 thesis and his many valuable later publications show how far an essentially nonthermodynamic point of view can penetrate into the intricacies of electrode kinetics Hurwitz s 1963 thesis adds to that of Gierst a certain amount of correlation with a thermodynamic leading thread which, however, retains the arbitrary separation of chemical and electric terms in the electrochemical potentials and the a priori introduction of transfer coefficients. [Pg.3]
