Charge-discharge characteristics lithium battery electrodes

In this chapter, lithium secondary batteries using conductive polymers as positive electrodes are discussed with particular attention to the charge-discharge characteristics, discharge capacity, self-discharge, cycling life and so on. 

Some fusible alloys composed of Bi, Pb, Sn, and Cd exhibit good characteristics as material for the negative electrode of secondary lithium batteries. The alloy can absorb the lithium into the negative electrode during charge and it can release the absorbed lithium into the electrolyte as ions during discharge. Dendritic deposition... 

Electrochemical performance characteristics of lithium-ion batteries, such as charge and discharge curves, rate capability, and cycling life, are mainly dependent on the mobility of Lb ions in the separator and its interfaces with the electrodes when both electrode materials are fixed. Different designs will use different porous separators some of them are summarized in Table 12.6.
