As in Figure 15.7, the area CEDA in Figure 15.8 represents r for a PFR with recycle ratio R. It varies in a complex manner from that for a PFR without recycle (represented by the area under the curve GE ) to that for a CSTR (rectangular area CE"GA). Because of the shape of the curve GE , the question arises as to whether there is an optimal value of R for which r is a minimum, and, if so, how this minimum compares with r for a PFR without recycle. This is explored in Example 15-9 and illustrated numerically in Example 15-10. [Pg.384]

Ceda-based oxides can be obtained by the decomposition of some compound precursor, such as hydroxide, nitrate, halides, sulfates, carbonates, formates, oxalates, acetates, and citrates. For example, nanosize or porous cerium oxide particles have been prepared at low temperatures by pyrolysis of amorphous citrate," which is prepared by the evaporation of the solvent from the aqueous solution containing cerium nitrate (or oxalate) and citric acid. In the case of mixed oxides, the precursor containing some cations in the same solid salts is prepared. In the same manner of ceria particles, the precursors complexing some cations with citrates are useful to synthsize ceria-zirconia mixed oxides and their derivatives. Also. Ce02-Ln203 solid solutions, where Ln = La. Pr, Sm. Gd. and Tb, have been synthesized from the precursors obtained by the evaporation of nitrate solutions at 353 K in air from an intimate mixture of their respective metal nitrates. The precursors are dried and then heated at 673 K to remove niU ates, followed by calcination at 1073 K for 12h. [Pg.63]

D. melanogaster (Zerofsky et al., 2005) to mammals (Berk et al., 1990 Rosenthal et al., 1975). Most importantly, these increases have been linked to aging-related disorders, like Alzheimer s disease (Abraham et al., 1988), rheumatoid arthritis (Rosenthal et al., 1975), cardiovascular diseases (Berk et al., 1990), impaired tissue renewal, frailty and reduced glucose tolerance (Ceda et al., 2005 Walston and Fried, 1999). [Pg.471]

In order to improve CEDA, Vemu (2007) proposed ACCE and ACCE with Duplication (ACCED). They use the same detection capabilities from CEDA, but improve it by allowing error correction. Despite being unable to mitigate all control flow errors, ACCE imposes low laterrcy for error correction with performance overhead of about 20%. The otdy issue that remains is that neither ACCE nor ar r software-based technique is able to detect intra-node control flow errors, or in other words, faults causing control flow errors inside the same BB. [Pg.38]

Hybrid Error-detection Technique using Assertions (HETA) is the third and final hybrid technique presented in this book. It was initially based in the CEDA software-based technique and its abiUty to efiSciently detect control flow errors between different BBs, and PODER and its ability to detect control flow errors inside the same BB. HETA is aimed at both FPGAs and ASICs, since it implements a non-intrasive hardware module combined with transformation rules on the program code. [Pg.66]

The CEDA should be administered in accordance with this manual and guide. Only persons who purchase the book, read and follow the directions can reproduce and use the CEDA tool. [Pg.4]

Our approach for the CEDA tool is unique. The standard accepted definition of creativity includes originality (novelty) and usefulness. However, to date, no assessments have directly measured these constructs. The CEDA is conceptualized to measure originality and usefulness specific to engineering design in addition to both divergent and convergent thinking. [Pg.7]

The CEDA has been shown to be related to the Purdue Creativity Test (PCT) which was normed on engineers in industry. The PCT was developed in 1960 and has not been widely used. [Pg.7]

Best wishes with your implementation of the CEDA. [Pg.7]

The Creative Engineering Design Assessment (CEDA) Background, Directions, Manual, Scoring Guide and Uses has three chapters. [Pg.8]

Chapter 1 contains the background and rationale for the CEDA tool. The importance of creativity in engineering design, engineering education and the core principals of engineering design are discussed. [Pg.8]

Chapter 3 includes intended uses of the CEDA. The aim and overall purpose of the CEDA is to measure creativity specihc to engineering design. The objective of the designs are to help enrich people s lives and to beneht humankind. The importance of creativity in STEM, Industry, NASA and the military are discussed in this section. Conclusions are also described. Eor further information regarding administration and scoring, please contact the author. Contact information appears at the end of the Acknowledgements section. [Pg.8]

Best wishes with your interests and uses for the CEDA. [Pg.8]

Please feel free to contact Dr. Charyton if you would like additional information or training, scoring, and interpretation of the CEDA. Dr. Charyton can provide onsite training for your research, educational program, industry, NASA, or military project. [Pg.10]
