Catering applications

Domestic and catering applications Austenitic steels are ideal for most food preparation, and in this connection are used for table tops, sinks and... [Pg.557]

In many catering applications, cooked meals are produced in one point and have to be transported to another place where they are eaten. Some examples are transport of cheese, salads, frozen deserts, confectionery, or fish. PCMs containers could also be used to avoid breaking the cold chain during transportation of precooked meals, foie-gras, smoked salmon, milk derivates, ice-cream, and many others. [Pg.318]

The three most likely types of operational service misuse are overloading, incorrect lubrication and the presence of contaminants. Overloading is primarily due to the use of too small or too weak a gear unit, and this may be the result of false economy (installing an available unit for an application beyond its capacity) or failure to cater for the effects of shock loads in calculations of power rating. [Pg.862]

There is an increasing demand for ready-prepared foods for final re-heating or cooking in microwave ovens. Applications are for retail sale of take-away meals and factory/ office and institution catering. Such foods maybe frozen and will then have a longer storage life, but will require frozen storage. [Pg.203]

They are applicable to compounds in the common NMR solvents - but not in D6-benzene (or D5-pyridine). The substituent effects are additive, but don t place too much reliance on chemical shifts predicted using the table, in compounds where more than two groups are substituted next to each other, as steric interactions between them can cause large deviations from expected values. Note that Table 5.4, like all others, does not cater for solvent shifts, etc ... [Pg.48]

Macroporous materials with various shapes such as particles, tubes, rods, fibers, membranes, and 3DOM have been designed to cater for different applications. Three... [Pg.225]

These products, which have been copied by other manufacturers under various tradenames, are designed specifically for printing applications. Azoic dyeing applications were catered for in 1967 when Hoechst introduced the Azanil salts, a limited range of mixtures of substantive triazenes and Naphtols that can be absorbed onto the fabric and the colour developed by acidification of the dyebath. [Pg.225]

The KM group also has created an application called the People Knowledge Map (PKM). The PKM allows Infoscions to go public on their specific expertise so that colleagues may consult them. Thereby, this application allows Infoscions to tap the tacit knowledge possessed by colleagues. Also, it caters to those Infoscions who prefer to listen and learn. [Pg.226]

As EPR continues to find new applications in virtually all areas of modern science, including physics, chemistry, biology and materials science, this series caters not only for experts in the field, but also those wishing to gain a general overview of EPR applications in a given area. [Pg.400]

In addition to the conventional 3 compartment cell configuration shown in Figure 4, there are various other two or three compartment unit cell configurations as shown in Figure 6 available to cater to the specific application needs. Whether acid purification is of primary importance or a pure base or both pure acid and base products from a salt, are desired, the AQUATECH system can tailor a system specific to the application s needs. [Pg.283]

Another application for biodegradable plastics is for plastic films used in fresh food wrapping and plastic wrap used in the catering industry. The reason that a biodegradable film could be advantageous... [Pg.93]

For many applications and for the understanding of the photochemical reactivity of molecules of environmental significance it is necessary to compare the homo-lytic bond dissociation enthalpies and the corresponding photon energies THw (threshold wavelengths) in relation to the absorption onset of these molecules (Bolton and Cater, 1994). D%s is identical with the bond strength of a de-... [Pg.51]

Directive 2000/13/EC " deals with labelling, presentation and advertising of foodstuffs and is applicable to all foodstuffs intended for sale to consumers or caterers. Also Directive 89/107/EEC ° sets requirements on labelling of food additives. In principle, all substances used in the manufacture or preparation of foodstuffs and still present in the finished product should be declared on the label in order to inform the consumer about the substances present. It is of no interest how or when the substances are added to the food and therefore substances released from an active packaging system should be declared. [Pg.384]

Over the past My years there have beat significant developments in the synthesis of zeolites of different pore sizes [6], Many of these developments have resulted in new applications of zeolite catalysts for petrochemical processes. TM is eq>eciaHy so, for exauqile, in the case of catafytic cracking whidi ideally requires the pore sizes to be tailored to cater for reactions involving a wide range of molecular sizes thus leading to the syntheas of catalysts with macro-, meso- and micropores. Table 1 shows the pore aze, dimensionality and structure type of some of the zeolites and molecular aeves which will be discussed in this paper. [Pg.324]
