If so specified on the purchase order for round-thread casing only, jointers (two pieces coupled to make a standard length) may be furnished to a maximum of 5% of the order, but no length used in making a jointer shall be less than 5 ft.

Round-Thread Casing Coupling Dimensions, Weights, and Tolerances... 

The selected coupling should be long with round thread. The available casing grade is N-80 and unit weights as given in table below. 

Material is cold drawn seamless mechanical tubing or similar high quality seamless steel tube. Use an inside micrometer and an auto engine cylinder hone to enlarge and polish the bore to 2.38" +. 005". This is CRITICAL and is the most important operation of the entire project. Inside mikes and cylinder hones are available from local equipment rental shops. Cut the tube to length, square and deburr ends and crown the muzzle (.1875" half round). Thread 1.75" of the base end of the barrel w/2A TPI outside threads. Heat treat or case harden the finished barrel if possible. This will increase strength and reduce wear. Screw the barrel into the basecap (assembly A-B).Paint the outside of the completed assembly w/ olive drab enamel. 

I have here a small egg which I place in the little Salamander net or hammock, it holds it up as you would expect. Removing egg and passing it round). Please see that the egg is a real heavy one and not a fake. . . taking hack egg and palming it for a similar blown egg afterwards placed in hammock. You will observe the suspension threads and hammock are quite flexible, i.e. they are not made of wire or any fake of that sort—I now place the egg back in the hammock and proceed to set fire to both hammock and threads, they burn as you can see and are apparently consumed—but that this is not really the case, can be seen from the fact that the egg does not fall. In some cases, the details can cause data conversion problems, especially with the geometry of the part which has too many triangles while converting. These failures are common around comers where roundings meet, threads etc. In these cases a less detailed or intentionally simplified model of the part is better for generating a good DMU. The user has to think, if in the case of the thread of a screw for example (not meaning a spiral conveyor) is necessary for DMU purposes or further work in the CAx chain (Fig. 13.2). 

Commercial sublimation adapters such as those shown in Figure 2.59 are available for microscale work. A Winston adapter is normally used with a sublimation chamber such as a 3- or 5-mL conical vial (Fig. 2.59a), whereas adjustable adapters may be used with 5- or 10-mL round-bottom flasks (Fig. 2.59b). In both cases a cold-finger that may be connected to a vacuum source is fitted to the chamber containing the substance to be sublimed, and the connection is secured with a standard-taper joint that is often accompanied by an O-ring and threaded collar (Fig. 2.59).
