Case study Reducing emissions to the air from a fertiliser plant

We will here present a case from a fertiliser plant. It involves the successful introduction of a new system for feedback control of accidental emission to the environment. The system illustrates some basic qualities in accident prevention through experience feedback. 

Before the system was introduced, emissions were registered continuously by measuring the nitrogen content in the exhaust air in the pipe. This information was stored and summarised in internal reports and reports to the authorities. In case of major accidental emissions, the causes were analysed
