Drawing. Copper ahoys are often deep drawn or cupped. A second drawing step is commonly appHed to the more severe or "deeper drawn" shapes required for some appHcations, such as bah point pen cartridge cases. 

An additional virtue of many copper alloys is the capacity for deep drawing such as cartridge cases and flexible beUows. C260 and C510 are weU known for their drawabiHty. Be—Cu that is drawn and then aged is used for beUows that have exceUent fatigue life.

The Bloehm primer is a slight variation of the Berdan type. The anvil is not an integral part of the cartridge case, but takes the form of a spade which is inserted into the centrally located primer vent in the cartridge case, after which the charged cup is inserted... 

Sensitivity testing of primers (Refs 3 IS) is conducted with the primers inserted into the specified cartridge case in which they are to be used. Fill the empty cartridge case with the powder obtained from the primacord, packing it tightly with a pencil or stick. Do not pound or hammer on the stick. Leave the neck of the cartridge case empty.
