Carcinogenic benzoles

Additional pollution is caused by interior of the car. Everyone knows the smell of a new car it comes from all the plastics used for the fittings. More than 1000 substances evaporate from a new car this is called fogging . It often causes headaches and nausea, and sometimes allergic reactions. Recently, the number of volatile substances has been reduced, so the Togging effect is less severe, but it lasts longer. Another source of bad smells is the fuel tank carcinogenic benzoles can get inside the car. 

The well characterized reactions of carcinogens such as benzols] pyrene and aflatoxin B with DNA (39-50) suggested to us that an analysis of the kinds of mutations these agents induced could shed light on the contribution of specific DNA lesions to mutagenesis.

And at last it is the using of the special Automotive fuel on the base of liquid wastes of coke factories of Ukraine, containing a carcinogen and drug benzol in quantities that are exceeding in other countries of Europe and world in tens times. 

In the early 1940s, Leiter et al. (1942) demonstrated that a similar phenomenon occurred with organic extracts of ambient air particles—that is, injection of tars extracted from atmospheric dusts collected at locations throughout New York City produced subcutaneous sarcomas in mice. Shortly thereafter, Leiter and Shear (1943) reported that marginal doses of 3,4-benzpyrene (known today as benzol a jpyrene, BaP, I), the powerful carcinogen earlier isolated from coal tar and synthesized by Cook et al. (1933), also produced subcutaneous tumors in mice.

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), which are ubiquitous in the environment, including surface waters, undergo facile chlorination by hypochlorite when dissolved in humus-poor water to give a suite of chlorinated PAH (1660). It is therefore conceivable that this chlorination can occur under natural conditions, but this is yet to be determined. Another new possible source of natural chlorinated PAH is the reported in vitro reaction of benzo [a pyrene diol epoxide, the ultimate carcinogen of benzo aIpyrene with chloride ion to give chlorohydrin DDD, which has been isolated and identified as an intermediate en route to a benzol a pyrene-DN A adduct (1661). However, DDD is not considered to be a natural compound at this time.

The diol epoxides (83) and (84) of the carcinogen fluoroanthene have been prepared". MO theory has been used to predict that (83) should be substantially more reactive than (84) and this has been verified by mutagenicity tests. Force field molecular structures for the fjord region diol epoxides of benzol phenanthrene (85) have revealed steric crowding which influences the relative confoimer stabilities in this system99.
