Calor gas

Calor gas, Calor propane The trade name for a liquified petroleum gas (LPG) sold in cylinders for domestic and industrial healing. Calor gas is the name used for commercial butane while commercial propane is sold as Calor propane. [Pg.77]

Calor Gas Limited, Coryton occupies a small site employing about 100 people to fill cylinders with LPG which is supplied by pipelines from both of the nearby refineries and stored in it.s seven tanks 350 tonnes total capacity. Large numbers of portable cylinders of all sizes, full and empty, are on the site totalling about 500 tonnes of LPG. These are transported by road gases are transported in tank trucks. [Pg.430]

Calor Gas Ltd. stores a small quantity of liquefied gas because it can be delivered readily hs pipelines from the neighboring oil refineries. The five tanks each storage about 60 tonnes capacity at ambient temperature. Three are tised for propane and two for butane. The total quantity of gas contained in filled cyl mders averages 500 tonnes. [Pg.436]

In this section, unless otherwise stated, coal refers to the internationally traded commodity classified as coal ARA CIF AP 2, while gas refers to the high caloric gas (with a conversion factor 35,17 GJ/m3) from the Dutch Gas Union Trade Supply (GUTS). Moreover, prices for power, fuels and C02 refer to forward markets (i.e. year-ahead prices). [Pg.68]

In the twentieth century oil overtook coal as the main source of bulk organic compounds so that simple hydrocarbons like methane (CH4, natural gas ) and propane (CH3CH2CHV calor gas ) became available for fuel. At the same time chemists began the search for new molecules from new sources such as fungi, corals, and bacteria and two organic chemical industries developed in parallel— bulk and fine chemicals. Bulk chemicals like paints and plastics are usually based on simple molecules produced in multitonne quantities while fine chemicals such as drugs, perfumes, and flavouring materials are produced in smaller quantities but much more profitably. [Pg.3]

Various blends of hydrocarbon propellants that have a range of physical properties suitable for different applications are commercially available, e.g., CAP30 (Calor Gas Ltd.) is a mixture of 11% propane, 29% isobutane, and 60% butane. A-46 (Aeropres) is a commonly used mixture for aerosol foams and consists of about 85% isobutane and 15% propane. The number following the letter denotes the approximate vapor pressure of the blend or mixture. [Pg.326]

Both propane and butane are used as camping gas, and in gas lighters. Calor gas is mainly butane. And natural gas (North Sea gas) is used for cooking and heating in homes. [Pg.191]

To carry out a simple estimate of the financial payback of a proposed installation you must divide the total installation costs by the annual savings. For example, let us suppose that you intend to replace your existing coal, calor gas or oil-fired heating system with a ground source heat pump because you live in the country and there is a large plot of grassland next to your house. The estimated cost of... [Pg.94]
