Quick Opening Devices. Breech block, tapered or interrupted thread, or pinned closures are often used when an end cover has to be removed quickly, as with some isostatic presses (126,136), or to enable the end cover to be removed easily after the vessel has been heated to high temperatures. 

Tanks, Vessels, ana Equipment Flat, curved, and irregular surfaces such as tanks, vessels, boilers, and breechings are normally insulated with flat blocks, beveled lags, curved segments, blankets, or spray-apphed insulation. Since no general procedure can apply to all materials and conditions, it is important that manufacturers specifications and instructions be followed for specific insulation applications. 

By viriue of its vertical construction, the turbo-type tray dryer has a stack effect, the resulting draft being frequently sufficient to operate the dryer with natural draft. Pressure at points within the dryer is maintained close to atmospheric, as low as 0.1, usually less than 0.5 mm of water. Most of the roof area is used as a breeching, lowering the exhaust velocity to settle dust back into the dryer.

Breeching is a local perforation of the concrete element by the extremely high blast pressures of a close explosion. High velocity concrete fragments can result. Breeching failures are controlled by providing adequate reinforcement, concrete thickness and standoff distance to the explosive. 

Design for Spalling. Breeching, and Fragment Penetration. Test results have been used to empirically derive relationships for the reinforced concrete thickness required to prevent spalling, breeching, or fragment penetration.
