Boron organometallic compounds

High ee values have also been obtained with organometallics," including organotitanium compounds (methyl, aryl, allylic) in which an optically active ligand is coordinated to the titanium," allylic boron compounds, and organozinc compounds. [Pg.1210]

Increasing interest is expressed in diastereoselective addition of organometallic reagents to the ON bond of chiral imines or their derivatives, as well as chiral catalyst-facilitated enantioselective addition of nucleophiles to pro-chiral imines.98 The imines frequently selected for investigation include N-masked imines such as oxime ethers, sulfenimines, and /V-trimcthylsilylimines (150-153). A variety of chiral modifiers, including chiral boron compounds, chiral diols, chiral hydroxy acids, A-sull onyl amino acids, and /V-sulfonyl amido alcohols 141-149, have been evaluated for their efficiency in enantioselective allylboration reactions.680... [Pg.180]

Whether or not such electrophilic organometallic species can be identified, or indeed isolated, depends primarily on the stability of the counteranion. The per-fluorophenyl boron compounds B(C,sF5)3 and [B(C6F5)4] , first prepared by Stone and co-workers in 1963 [33], proved particularly useful in this respect. Their use in metallocene polymerisation catalysis [34, 35] led to significantly more active catalysts and well-defined catalyst systems that proved mechanistically informative. These results have then enabled similar species to be detected in the more complex MAO-activated catalyst systems (vide infra). [Pg.315]

Partly from lack of space, we have restricted our general discussion of the use of the literature and information retrieval services. The comments of Bruce and the references he cites are valuable here. Also we have not given statistical analyses of published papers. The relative importance of literature on various elements is, however, apparent from our book lists and the appendix of review articles clearly silicon and boron compounds have been most thoroughly studied. We broadly endorse the comments of Bruce about the relative importance of various journals in organometallic chemistry—except to add that the organometallic chemistry of the Main Group elements has been particularly widely investigated in the USSR. Books and papers from Russian authors are therefore of considerable importance. [Pg.454]

Wiley (Interscience), New York, 1964. 765 pp. Mainly inorganic boron chemistry, but organometallic compounds are described briefly in Chapters 6 and 7. Chapter 8 contains a section (7 pp.) on the toxicity of organoboron compounds. [Pg.458]

Transmetallation refers to the transfer of an organic group from a metal to boron by the reaction of an organometallic reagent with an appropriate boron compound. The... [Pg.345]
