Bonding agents curing

Use Moderating and combustion catalyst, solid fuel catalyst, bonding agent, curing accelerator, intermediate. [Pg.554]

Foundry Resins. In the foundry industry, phenoHc resins are used as the binder for sand in the manufacture of sheU molds and cores. The two mating halves are joined by clamps or a bonding agent to form a sheU mold into which the molten metal is poured for castings. The sheU is formed by depositing a resin—sand mix on a hot metal pattern plate. After a certain period the pattern is inverted and the excess resin sand is removed. The sand particles are bonded by an oven cure, and the sheU is ejected from the pattern plate. [Pg.305]

A pre-cured tread with pattern is prepared by moulding. A thin strip of unvulcanised cushion rubber compound is inserted between the casing and the tread rubber to form the bonding agent between the new and old components. The tread is then applied to the casing and consolidated by pressure. The cushion rubber is then vulcanised. This is also known as cold retreading . [Pg.205]

Compatibility. Owing to the high reactivity of the isocyanate group, polyurethane propellants require a more sophisticated processing technique than the rather foolproof, carboxy-terminated polybutadiene aziri-dine and/or epoxy-cured propellant systems. Processing is even more complicated if bonding agents (see below) are present, which are used to bolster mechanical properties in practically any modern propellant. [Pg.99]

Chlorinated rubber is also an effective bonding agent. It can be used for bonding neoprene, nitrile and natural rubbers to metals. Phenol formaldehyde resins have been used alone or in conjunction with chlorinated rubbers, but curing time is lengthy. [Pg.163]

In the bonding of cured concrete to cured concrete, the adhesive is applied directly to the substrates. In the case of new concrete, the bonding agent may be incorporated into the concrete formulation, or the adhesive may be applied to the nonconcrete surface. [Pg.14]
