Uintaite is described in Kirk-Othmer [1329]. Typical uintaite used in drilling fluids is mined from an area around Bonanza, Utah and has a specific gravity of 1.05 with a softening point ranging from 190° C to 205° C, although a lower softening point (165° C) material is sometimes used. It has a low acid value, a zero iodine number, and is soluble or partially soluble in aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons, respectively.

The current oil bonanza has focused more attention on the plight of the Caspian environment, highlighting the need to take action. However, environmental remediation of existing hotspots has not been a priority for the region s governments, and their desire to develop the Caspian s oil and gas resources as a driver for economic development means that environmental protection measures are likely to take a back seat in the near-term.

Vibrational acoustic emission from industrial processes is often considered as audible random signals only, but it has recently been proven that within this noise there is often a bonanza of hidden nsefnl information [3-11], highly relevant for processes monitoring purposes. The fact that almost all processes produce some kind of acoustic emission opens up the potential for diverse applications which depend totally on sound, sensor-technological knowledge and chemometric multivariate calibration competencies. 

To conclude we may speculate on the future of the fuel cell research and make some observations. After much hope of achieving a cheap, reliable and efficient power conversion system, the hard facts of life have shown that the rapid commercialization and wide spread use of fuel cells cannot be obtained so readily. The level of R and D funding after the bonanza years of the moon flight missions rapidly decreased in the late sixties and several programs in industry came to a halt. The recent and exhaustive review by Kordesch ( 1). on fuel cell development indicates, among other things, that the peak in R and D in this field was in 1964. The maximum number of publications in fuel cell research activity occurred in 1969. 

The literal interpretation of a societal approach instructs health care decision makers to pay attention to the effect of current reimbursement policies on the development of new products. Too high a price, and there is too much of a good thing - too many beneficial new products. Too low a price, and the bonanza may dry up, with harm to health, to investment, and to employment.

Gold veins in rocks are known as lode deposits. The principal vein is the mother lode , now a figure of speech as well as the name of one of the most famous deposits of the Californian Gold Rush. When these lodes form at relatively low temperatures and low pressures near the surface of the Earth s crust, they can become exceptionally rich in gold. Such deposits can be found in Colorado and Nevada, and became known in the nineteenth century by the Spanish word for prosperity bonanza, a term now redolent with the mythology of the Wild West.

Despite the multitude of well characterized boron compounds, the knowledge of azole derivatives of boron is still rather limited. For example, only three C-borylated pyrazoles are known. Although N-borylated pyrazole derivatives are considerably more abundant, until most recently these were restricted to compounds containing only four-coordinate boron. Of these, the poly(l-pyrazolyl)borate anions have been a bonanza for the coordination chemist, since the steric and electronic features of these ions render them as extremely useful (polydentate and chelating) ligands. However, recent studies of the chemistry of boron derivatives of pyrazoles have provided for some noteworthy developments and a survey of such compounds and their chemistry appears to be a timely subject.
