Important are behaviors associated and interrelated with plastic materials (thermoplastics, thermosets, elastomers, reinforced plastics, etc.) and fabricating processes (extrusion, injection molding, blow molding, forming, foaming, reaction injection molding, etc.). Designers and processors to produce products at the lowest cost have unconsciously used the basic concept of the FALLO approach. This approach makes one aware that many steps are involved to be successful, all of which must be coordinated and interrelated. Continuous production (extrusion and pultrusion) yields products of continuous length. Hollow (rotational or blow) produces hollow products. These processes can be used creatively to make different types of products. Polyesters exhibit excellent high temperature strength and electrical properties making them a good choice for many demanding applications. PBT-PC blends show increased melt strength allowing them to be easily processed by blow molding and profile extrusion. The PBT-PC blends have been extruded into sheet and thermoformed into parts.
