Block conformation

Bredt s rule and the blocked conformation (see Section n.A) precludes the ally lie alcohol formation, such as norbomene oxide jjowever, it has been very seldom... [Pg.1219]

In contrast, crystallization of one or both components of a block copolymer is accompanied by profound structural and dynamic changes. The fundamental process in crystallization of chains in a crystallizable block copolymer is the change in block conformation, i.e. the adoption of an extended or a folded structure rather than a coiled configuration found in the melt or solution (see Fig. 1.5). [Pg.7]

Formation of cyclohexene is the consequence of the well-known debrominations by bases26,30-33 This elimination is obviously favored by the tram diaxial position of the halogens. Thus it was of interest to study trans dibromocyclohexanes derivatives with blocked conformations. [Pg.63]

Although most protease inhibitors are active site directed, mutants such as the "flap" mutants of HIV protease (47) suggest that "allosteric" drugs can be developed that inhibit by blocking conformational changes necessary to reveal the active site of some proteases (48). [Pg.314]

Notes 1 and 2 When limited variability languages such as lEC 61131-3 ladder diagram or function block diagram are used for the design, implementation, verification and validation of application software, then only two levels of the standard software V model shown in Figure 3 need apply. In this case, it is assumed that the used function blocks conform to lEC 61508-3,... [Pg.50]

The resilience of preconditioned SELP-47K fibres, either autoclaved or chemical cross-linked, approached that of native elastin, which is 90% [60], It is worth noticing that mechanical properties of SELP-47K fibres change dramatically between the dry state and the full hydrated state (Table 12.3). This is likely due to the plasticizing effect of water, which gives the silk-like blocks conformational flexibility by decreasing their crystallinity. [Pg.323]

Recently Schulz et al combined the bond fluctuation MC and MD simulation. They used the MC method to follow the large-scale motion of the chains but periodically used MD for short intervals. They claim that this method gives a significantly increase in the overall speed of the code. This is probably because the MD allows one to resolve blocked conformations better due to the cooperativity of the motion, while the MC is much faster in more standard environment. Heermann and Yixue have also discussed hydrid MC-MD methods but so far have only presented results for very short chains. [Pg.215]
