Biogas experimental

The monitoring scheme carried out on 5 Mi-scale plants, 4 demonstrative ones and an experimental one, shows high biogas yield (m3.Kg VS.d ). The anaerobic digestion process is shown to be stable, even when there are falls in digestion temperature, or breaks in the mixing and feeding process. Considerable problems were noted, however,... [Pg.385]

A detailed performance map of a single MK200 stack in a defined furnace environment was experimentally determined at the beginning of the project. These data were needed to predict and understand the stack behavior for different biogas compositions and reformer operation regimes and to obtain the essential performance values for the system design. [Pg.13]

These figures indicate that the system is capable of converting biogas with high electrical efficiency over a broad range of biogas composition. Table 3 compares values for the predicted operation point with results of the experimental evaluation. [Pg.17]

The experimental system efficiency is higher than predicted, mainly due to the improved fuel utilization of the stack at the specific operation point. System power output matches the predicted value though biogas flow rate and thus energy input was lower. [Pg.17]

Potential of biogas/methane generation of waste could be also determined experimentally in batch tests, semi-continuous-flow or continuous-flow reactors. Batch tests are based on measurement of the amount of biogas (and the concentration of CH in biogas) isolated during the fermentation of the portion of material placed in a closed vessel. Parameters determined in the batch test are called biogas potential or Biochemical Methane Potential (BMP). A detailed review of conditions in which these tests are conducted is presented in the work made by Angehdaki et al. (2009). [Pg.24]
