A detailed performance map of a single MK200 stack in a defined furnace environment was experimentally determined at the beginning of the project. These data were needed to predict and understand the stack behavior for different biogas compositions and reformer operation regimes and to obtain the essential performance values for the system design. [Pg.13]

System tests were performed operating pure steam reforming of 100 Vol.-% CH4. Subsequently, different biogas compositions were fed by adding CO2 to the system. Performance data are shown in Figure 6. [Pg.17]

These figures indicate that the system is capable of converting biogas with high electrical efficiency over a broad range of biogas composition. Table 3 compares values for the predicted operation point with results of the experimental evaluation. [Pg.17]

Biogas composition is strongly dependent on the source and is within (50-75) % CH4, where the main contaminants are CO2 (up to 50 %) which lowers the calorific value of the gas and sulfuric acid (H2S) which could cause several problem on the plants and for human health on the plants it causes corrosion (compressors, gas storage tank and engines), while it is toxic after its inhalation [14-19],... [Pg.96]

It is crucial to monitor and control the early process indicators such as VFA concentration and biogas composition to have a comprehensive insight of the microbiological d3mamics of the AD before a process imbalance happens. [Pg.285]
